From Chainmail to D&D Next
Hack-N-Slash is a great example of how to use the Fudge tool kit to create a fantasy game. It plays realistically and fast. Combat is quick and deadly, encouraging a similar degree of caution as Basic D&D. I really enjoy the ladder and fudge dice, once you get use to a non numerical ladder it makes descriptions flow more naturally.
We have played Fudge a few years back when looking for a D&D alternative. It was enjoyable substitute.
Play this game when you want a quick easy system to introduce people to role-playing. It can also be expanded or house ruled by using the available Fudge material. This is another great game to use those Fudge dice with.
